Under the northern tower of the Gniezno Cathedral, there is an entrance to the basement. The crypts can be visited with a guide for a small fee. Here you can see the oldest tombstone inscription in Poland from around 1006, fragments of the walls of the Mieszko I basilica, as well as partially reconstructed fragments of the first pre-Romanesque and Romanesque churches. In addition, you can find stone tombs here. In the crypt were buried, among others Ignacy Krasicki, Teodor Andrzej Potocki, and the primate Zbigniew Oleśnicki.
