St. Catherine’s Church is the oldest parish church in Gdańsk Old City. It was built in the first half of the 13th century. Its wonderful architecture and the Museum of Tower Clocks located in the church's tower brings the attention of many tourists.

The church was built on the initiative of Pomerelia princes who also founded its construction. Since the time it was finished to modern times, it had been destroyed and rebuilt many times.

The massive church's tower has 76 m in height and is topped with the Baroque tented roof. Other Baroque features, such as monumental epitaphs, can be seen inside. The interior consists of paintings by famous Gdańsk's painters such as Izaak van der Blocke or Anton Möller.

The church has 50 carillons - musical instruments typically housed in the bell tower. The largest bell - Catherine - weights 2845 kg.
