Old Town Hall was built at the end of the 16th century. It's one of the most valuable monuments in Gdańsk and one of the most beautiful examples of Dutch Mannerism architecture. The Baltic Sea Cultural Center operates here.
The building of Old Town Hall is very impressive. Especially worthy of attention is the decorative, stone portal of the main entrance and the main facade complemented by two corner towers, stone reliefs depicting, among others, coats of arms of Gdańsk, Poland, and Royal Prussia, and also mascarons and cartouche. The aim of the Baltic Sea Cultural Center with a headquarters in Old Town Hall is to promote the culture of Pomerania in Poland and abroad. The facility organizes exhibitions, concerts, music and movie festivals, meetings with important personas and book promotions.Less
