The museum collects archaeological monuments from the Pomeranian Pomerania region, and its headquarters are located on the bank of the Motlawa River, in the historic building of the so-called. "House of Naturalists", dating from the 16th century. There are over 30,000 archeological, natural and ethnographic exhibits dating back to the Stone Age, up to the modern times. Guests can admire the panorama of Gdansk from the observation tower.
Visitors will have a chance to get to know the history of Gdansk or see the rich collections from the history of Pomerania (collection of urns). In addition, you can admire the collection of amber and even cultural monuments of the people of Sudan.
The museum also conducts excavation research, and the finds are shown at special exhibitions. Academic and educational activities are also being held - open lectures and museum lessons for children and youth are organized here. Workshops cover topics from the ancient history of mankind to the history of the seventeenth-century Gdansk.
