The Secular Gate is one of the two 15th century entry gates to the city of Chojna. These historic entrances are the remains of a solid defense team that formerly protected the city. It consisted of three main gates, foregates, towers and watchtowers, as well as powerful defensive walls.
The name of the Secular Gate is derived from the name of the city of Świecie on the Oder, which is currently located within the German state. The building was built on a square plan. Its base was made of field stones, while bricks were used for the rest of the structure. The gate was topped with a pyramid roof and corner towers.
The facility consisted of several parts: the internal gate, the gate neck, the ridge middle gate, the second gate neck and the two-masted front gate. In the past, there was also a mill nearby.
