Barnkowska Gate

Two medieval main gates have survived in the town of Chojna - Barnkowska Gate and Świecie Gate. The name of Barnkowska Gate comes from the village of Barnkowo, which is today a district of the city. The property has an open observation deck, from which there is a beautiful panorama of the village and its surroundings.

The original gate was built in the fourteenth century. Stone was used for its construction. In the next century the building was demolished and a new brick one was built in its place. The building was constructed on a square plan. It is decorated with niches, diaphragms and pointed helmets. Its total height is about 29 meters.
