Church of St. Leonardo
Local name: Kościół św. Leonarda
Church of Sts. Leonarda is located in the suburbs of Busko Zdroj. It is the oldest preserved monument in the city. It is visited not only for its architectural qualities, but also for its location. From the hill on which there are beautiful views of the surrounding area.
The temple was built in 1699 on the site of the earlier, under the same call. For more than 200 years, he served as a parish church. Over time, when the city grew and the main church became a monastery closer to the center, it was renamed the cemetery chapel.
Today is used sporadically and above all is a tourist attraction. It is a small wooden building. It consists of a wide main nave, a semi-circular closed chancel and a small porch. Covered by ridge roofs, and above the nave rises the baroque top of the bell tower. Inside you can see the baroque main altar with the statue of Saint Leonard and fragments of eighteenth-century polychrome.
