Wirty Arboretum
Local name: Arboretum Wirty
It is one of the largest botanical gardens in northern Poland and is divided into a park and forest part. There are many types of coniferous and deciduous plants growing there, as well as the groundcover. Visitors can see there the only specimen of the special walnut hybrid (Juglans intermedia) in the country. The garden is a great place for walks, sightseeing trips, and leisure.
Currently, there are around 145 species, varieties and forms of conifers and deciduous trees, as well as about 150 species of groundcover. The garden is divided into several parts: a dendrological garden, European vegetation, American vegetation, and Asian vegetation. In the forest, an almost 3-kilometer educational and scenic path has been created. It allows visitors to look at different types of forests.There are also outbuildings, an office, a warehouse, foil tunnels, and greenhouses, as well as a relaxational guesthouse. The garden is close to Borzechowskie Lake which is famous for its very clear water. In the arboretum there is the grave of the son of Adam Putrich - the founder of the garden.Less
