Army Museum

Local name: Muzeum Wojska

The Museum of the Army in Białystok shows the evolution of the uniforms and equipment of the Polish soldiers and presents the history of the Second World War in Podlasie. The whole is presented with the use of well prepared exposures, gorgeous dioramas, as well as interactive and multimedia elements.

Inside the facility there are two permanent exhibitions. The first of them is entitled "Against two enemies. Military history of Podlasie and its inhabitants in 1939-1956 ". It presents the history of combats fought in this region. Visitors can come to know those events very well, even feel them, due to various means of communication. There are traditional exhibits here, but you can also listen to the recorded stories of participants of events, read by well-known Polish actors, or see photos in three dimensions thanks to special glasses.

The second exhibition, "Polish Army from 1956 to 2010", presents the evaluation of uniforms and military equipment used in the second half of the 20th century. The room where the exhibits are located, has been designed to resemble a military warehouse. The room has concrete walls, many cables and remains of the weatherboarding are visible. On the other hand, exhibits are situated in cabinets made of old military chests.
