In 2005, Geirangerfjord was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (together with Nærøyfjorden). Its length is 15 kilometers. While traveling by boat on its waters you can admire beautiful waterfalls, e.g. De Syv Søstrene (Seven Sisters) and Friarfossen (Zalotnik) and old, abandoned farms with traditional buildings.
A ferry runs between Geiranger and Hellesylt. For tourists who like to spend time actively, a trip to one of the abandoned farms: Skageflå, Blomberg and Knivsflå will be a great idea. You can reach the shore of the fjord by boat, then paths lead towards the farms.
Geirangerfjorden is a branch of Storfjorden. Its width at the narrowest point is about 600 meters, at some points it reaches 1500 meters.
