Fort Hinderdam

Local name: Fort bij Hinderdam

The fort was built to control traffic on the Vecht and Vechtdijken rivers. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was included in the defensive fortification system around Amsterdam, fully inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Currently, it is not open to the public. Its buildings serve as a shelter for bats, and the entire complex has the status of a natural monument
