Hague Museum of Photography
Local name: Fotomuseum Den Haag
Fotomuseum Den Haag is a photography museum that is part of the Haags Gemeentemuseum. Every year, the facility organizes about six exhibitions on various subjects. Some are devoted to the history of photography, and others to its modern form. You can see works by contemporary photographers such as Desiree Dolron, Gregory Crewdson and Loretta Lux, as well as classics, including Emmy Andriesse, Edward S. Curtis and Leonard Freed.
Many of the presented projects are socially involved, such as a series of photographs of the Yugoslav court of Friso Keuris or showing endangered landscapes through the lens of Anji de Jong. The museum works closely with the Print Room of the University of Leiden, the owner of one of the largest and most important historical photo collections in Europe.
