Local name: Fort bij Hoofddorp

The fort was built in 1903-1904 as part of the defensive fortifications system around Amsterdam. Along with the entire defensive complex is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. During World War II, it housed the Luftwaffe stable, and after the war, prison and warehouse. Currently there is a shooting range.
