Dolhuys - Museum of the Mind

The facility operating in the buildings of a 16th-century insane home presents the history of psychiatry and changes in the social perception of mental illnesses. In the museum you can see, among others historic cells and cages in which patients considered dangerous were kept for years. The permanent exhibition won a distinction in the European Museum of the Year 2007 competition.
