New Church
Local name: Nieuwe Kerk
The Protestant church, which is famous as the burial place of William I of Orange and other monarchs of the Netherlands, including Queen Juliana and her husband Prince Bernhardt. The history of the temple dates back to the end of the fourteenth century, when a brick basilica began to be built in place of a wooden church. Its construction was completed after a hundred years, in 1496.
