Local name: Fort bij Spijkerboor

The historic fort was built between 1889 and 1911 to defend the Northern Front. It was then one of the most modern and best-equipped elements of the fortifications around Amsterdam. It is one of the few that has two floors. Along with other fortifications, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
