The Rieker Windmill
Local name: De Riekermolen
De Riekermolen is a historic drainage windmill standing on the banks of the Amstel River in Amsterdam. It was built in 1636. It is still occasionally used to keep the Buitenveldert dry surface, with the windmill running aided by modern pumps. In front of the windmill is the Rembrandt monument. The interior of the building is not open to the public.
