Billingshurst Cavern

Billingshurst Cavern is an attraction only for diving fans. The cave is about 60 m long - on one side it goes to the surface of the sea, on the other it reaches a depth of about 30 m. Due to the ratio of length to width it is often called the "railway tunnel". It is also known as Booming Cave because of the noise inside the cave, which is caused by waves hitting the cliff.

The tunnel leads to an oval cave deep in the cliff, which is not completely filled with water - you can ascend to the surface and get some air. Entrance to the water takes place at Reqqa Point (in summer there is usually a ladder here to facilitate the descent to the water) or from the boat directly above the cave, which opens about 3 m from the cliff.

Billingshurst Cavern requires a lot of experience - diving takes place in almost complete darkness, and under artificial lighting the visibility does not exceed twenty several meters.
