Vasto is a popular seaside resort on the Adriatic. It has wide, sandy beaches, and a short distance from the sea, there is a historic, though a bit neglected, charming center with old buildings.
The city consists of two parts. Marina di Vasto, a holiday area with numerous hotels, apartments and guesthouses, is situated by the sea. There is no shortage of catering facilities, as well as recreational equipment rentals. The main attraction of Vasto is the local beaches. The buildings in the vicinity are wide, sandy and very well developed, and a bit further away you can find secluded places like Punta Aderci.
The old town of Vasto is situated on a hill above the coast. It is small and a bit neglected, but it has its own charm. There are narrow streets, small squares and a lot of historical buildings. In this place you can feel the atmosphere of an ordinary Italian town.
The Vasto area has a lot of charm. The coast here is varied, with coves and cliffs. They are included in the Punta Aderci Regional Nature Reserve with numerous walking routes.
