Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere
Local name: Abbazia di San Giovanni in Venere
The former Benedictine monastery is one of the oldest in the region. It was founded in the 6th century on the site of the ancient temple of Venus. Its peak period of development was gradually expanded in the 11th century. It includes a basilica with a Romanesque Benedictine layout typical for monasteries with a carved entrance portal, as well as residential buildings and farm buildings with a picturesque courtyard.
