Stintino is a seaside town and holiday resort in Sardinia. It is famous for one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, La Pelosa.
The village is located on a promontory on the northern coast of Sardinia. Its shores are very diverse, from gentle and sandy to steep, rocky cliffs. However, they are always accompanied by crystal clear, blue water, which brings to mind a paradise island.
Despite its popularity among tourists, Stintino has retained its small-town character. The center has the atmosphere of a former fishing village with low houses, cobbled streets and squares with restaurant tables. The local restaurants are dominated by fish and seafood.
The biggest attraction of Stintino are the beaches, L'Ancora beach, beach di Punta Negra, Cala Lupo, beach di Tamerici, beach di Punta Elice, and most of all La Pelosa beach with light soft sand and sea of unearthly color. The Salt Beach, with its layers of sea salt, is different, but no less beautiful.
The coast around Stintino is perfect for water sports, including surfing and diving. There are many companies that specialize in training and organizing diving trips. Their attractions are underwater caves and sunken shipwrecks.
