Piazza is the most important square in the city of Sassari. It was built in 1827 on the edge of the historic medieval center, just outside the city walls. The main monuments are the Palazzo della Provincia, a palace built at the end of the 19th century in the neoclassical style, the Palazzo Giordano in the neo-Gothic style, and the statue of Victor Emmanuel II.
