The bridge is a remnant of the Roman aqueduct. At the two ends of the crossing are the fortresses Rocca Albornoziana and Fortilizio dei Mulini, functioning as a mill until the 19th century. The bridge consists of nine huge arches, it is 230 meters long and 80 meters high. At the eastern end, there is a footpath that leads to former hermits.
