Vigamus - The Video Game Museum of Rome is an interactive museum presenting the history of video games. The museum was opened to visitors in October 2012.
Located in the large exhibition center of the museum, it is divided into different eras of video game history, starting with Magnavox Odyssey. The collection shows 440 elements of ephemera video games and contains over 100 panels displaying informational materials with background history. 15 retrospective video games give viewers first-hand knowledge of how to create games.
In addition to regular exhibits, the museum also has various interactive arcade, console and Oculus VR room areas. Some of the museum's unique items include DOOM main disks and Crytek demo disks.
The museum often hosts themed evenings or competitions such as Dark Souls III Day and Pokémon tournaments where you can win versions of newly released games and themed gadgets.
