People's Square or All People's Square, or Piazza del Popolo is one of the most famous Roman squares. It begins with the Champ de Mars, as well as the Vatican border with the characteristic trident of the streets: Via del Corso, Via Babuino and Via del la Ripetta. In the center stands the Egyptian obelisk Flaminio, moved to this place by Pope Sixtus V of Circus Maximus. At two opposite ends of the square there are also two fountains - the first dedicated to Neptune and the second to the goddess Romie.
One of the entrances to People's Square leads between two twin churches - Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto, which contain miraculous images of Mary. Second through Porta Flaminio, the gate through which pilgrims and travelers came to Rome from the north. To the left of it is also the Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary of All People - Basilica Santa Maria del Popolo with the Chigich chapel designed by Rafael.
