Basilica of SS. Ambrose and Charles on the Corso is a basilica dedicated to Saint. Ambrose and Saint. To Karol Boromeusz in Rome.
The construction of the temple began in honor of the canonization of St. Karol Boromeusz in 1610, under the direction of Onorio Longhi, and after his death by his son Martino Longhi. The dome was designed by Pietro da Cortona, who was also responsible for the apse and rich decorations inside the building. The façade was designed by Cardinal Luigi Alessandro Omodei.
The central vault depicts "Fall of Rebellious Angels" by Giacinto Brandi. The main altar is images of St. Ambrose and St. Karol Boromeusz with the Virgin and Jesus made by Carl Maratt. The frescoes of "Justice and Peace" were painted by Girolamo Troppa.
There is a niche behind the sanctuary in which the reliquary containing the heart of St. Charles. It was given to the church in 1614 by Cardinal Federico Borromeo, a saint's cousin.
