The Leonardo da Vinci Museum is housed in the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo and is entirely dedicated to the great artist. Wandering around the facility reminds you that he is not only a great painter, but a real Renaissance man. The museum's collection consists of over 60 life-size inventions modeled on Leonardo's machines. To diversify the tour, interactive platforms and high-resolution animations of the artist's most famous works have been prepared.
15th century materials and techniques were used to construct faithful copies of Renaissance designs. Italian craftsmen had to demonstrate not only manual skills, but also knowledge of the old Florentine dialect or the ability to decipher Leonardo da Vinci's transcripts.
The initiative to open the museum was the success of the temporary exhibition 'Leonardo da Vinci - Genius', which has been presented in several countries over several years.
