The history of the church dates back to the 4th century, while the current church is a reconstruction of the previous one, destroyed in a fire in the 19th century. A courtyard surrounded by granite columns leads to the church. The facade is decorated with a golden mosaic and statues of four prophets. Inside is the tomb of St. Paweł, over which a Gothic canopy was erected.
