A small castle standing on the coast and in the past part of the defense system of the Kingdom of Naples. It was erected at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries as a structure with a massive central tower surrounded by thick, slightly inclined walls.
The name of the castle comes from Napoleon's brother, Joachim Murat, who was imprisoned here in 1815 and sentenced to death by shooting. Today, in the castle, you can see an exhibition devoted to these events and the cell in which Murat spent the last hours of his life, preserved in its original appearance.Less
