Monumental complex of Santa Maria la Nova

The monastery complex erected at the beginning of the 13th century by the Angevins and thoroughly rebuilt in the Baroque style at the end of the 16th century. The adjacent monastery buildings were turned into communal houses. The interior decoration of the church is a fresco consisting of 46 gilded panels made by artists led by Lucia Giordano.
