San Marco is a Roman Catholic church located in Milan. It is the second largest church in the city. Next to the temple there are monastery buildings. Inside the church you can see a picture of the Madonna with the saints by Giana Paolo Lomazzo, the 14th-century Crucifixion cannon and numerous frescoes.
According to the legend, he was named after the patron of Venice - Saint Mark, in recognition of his help in the fight against Frederick Barbarossa in the 12th century. The current temple in so many gothic was founded in the 12th century on the basis of the building that existed there earlier. In the 17th century, the church was thoroughly rebuilt in the Baroque style. The church structure was rebuilt in the 17th century, giving it a baroque appearance. The facade is from 1871 and its author was Carlo Maciachini.
In 1770, the Austrian composer and virtuoso Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived in the San Marco monastery.
