Fountain built in the 16th century on the occasion of the opening of the aqueduct leading to Messina. It was designed by a student of Michelangelo, Fra 'Giovanni Angelo Montorsoli. It consists of pyramid-shaped bowls, over which stands the mythological founder of Messina, Orion. On the outskirts of the lower basin lie figures personifying four rivers: the Tiber, Ebro, Nile and Camaro.
