The palace was built on the island of Tejeto by Frederick II Gonzaga in the mid-15th century. It served as a place for receptions, feasts and balls. It is a Mannerist one-story building on a quadrangle plan with a huge courtyard, to which the main entrance leads through a curved arcade. The interior is covered with paintings referring to Roman mythology. There is also a small secret apartment with a passage to a private garden and a cave that was used for bathing.
