Piazza dell’Anfiteatro

An ellipse-shaped square, located on the site of a Roman amphitheater from the 2nd century AD, its ruins are currently hidden about 3 m below ground level. Around the square, compact buildings were erected and can only be accessed through four gates on the axles. They are indicated by the arms of a cross placed on the pavement in the middle of the square.
