Romanesque basilica representing Lucca's typical church-building style prior to the arrival of Pisa's influences. It is a three-bay structure in the Roman type with a simple facade, which in the 13th century was decorated with a magnificent mosaic depicting Christ in the Majesty adored by the Apostles. The interior is covered with rich sculptural decorations and paintings from different eras.
