The art gallery presents works of mainly Italian artists. It presents paintings by Anton van Dyck, Peter Paul Rubens, Valerio Castella and many others. Originally, the building served as an aristocratic residence. It was built on the remains of a medieval building in 1593, on the initiative of Francesco Grimaldi.
