A Renaissance palace built in the mid-sixteenth century for the wealthy merchant Niccolò Grimaldi. Currently, some of its interiors are used by the commune authorities, and some have art exhibitions from the 16th to 18th centuries. The interiors of the palace are richly decorated with illusionist freks and stucco decorations. The works of Gregoria De Ferrari and Antonio Canova are presented here. One of the rooms is dedicated to the figure of Nicolo Paganini. The palace, together with other Genoa buildings from the Renaissance period, is inscribed on the UNESCO list.
