A medieval fort that was once part of the Bari fortifications. Its construction began in the eleventh century and initially it was a stone tower, which, together with the change of war techniques, was transformed into a fort. It is the highest situated building within the Old Town and from its roof one can see the line of the old city fortifications, buildings of the Old Town and the modern waterfront. Currently, the fort has exhibition rooms and rooms for cultural events.
