The term "Prison of Christ" refers to several places in Jerusalem. However, many believe that the closest to the truth is its location in the Greek monastery of Praetorium. It is a small cell carved in stone located in the basement of the monastery.
According to biblical accounts, after being heard by Pilate, Jesus was sent to Caiaphas and Annas, and then he was imprisoned until his sentence. Tradition says that it was located in the Praetorium. At present, Greek monastery buildings stand in its place. In its basement there is a room from the first century AD. Behind the massive door you can see a cell with a sleeping bench carved in stone. Currently, there is an icon depicting Christ in prison surrounded by two angels. Olive llamas were hung on the vault. Above the dark room there is a chapel with a simple, modern iconostasis and polychromies depicting scenes from the Gospel.
