Reykholt is a town famous for Snorri Sturluson, a medieval poet, writer and Icelandic leader. There is an educational center devoted to him and a center for medieval studies.

Due to its long history and important place on the cultural map of Iceland, Reykholt is often visited by tourists. The local Snorrastofa educational center offers interactive exhibitions about the medieval history of the island and the figure of the writer. The Reykholts Church is also an important monument of the city.

The biggest attraction of Reykholts and the surrounding area is one of the strongest thermal springs in Europe. On its basis, the modern Krauma Thermal Baths with swimming pools and a sauna complex were created. There is also the Snorralaug thermal spring, commemorating the figure of Snorri Sturluson. When exploring the Reykholt area, don't miss the amazing Langjökull Glacier hiking trail.
