Gellert Baths is a complex using natural thermal springs at Gellert Hill. They are part of the famous Gellert Hotel. The complex has numerous pools with water at a temperature between 35 ° C and 40 ° C. Thermal waters contain sulfites, chlorides, fluorides, magnesium and calcium and have healing properties that help with respiratory and musculoskeletal disorders.
The thermal springs existing here were used already in the Middle Ages, even a hospital operated here. During the Turkish rule, baths also operated here. The current complex with the hotel was built in 1912-1918. During World War II it was partially destroyed, but after the war it was rebuilt.
The complex represents the Art Nouveau style and its interiors are richly decorated. Particular attention is attracted by colorful stained glass and mosaics. The main bath hall also has a spectacular glass ceiling.
