In the past, the square was called the town square, after World War II it was given the name of Stalin, then Engels, and since 1990 its patron is the Empress Elisabeth, which is loved by the Hungarians Sissi. The most interesting architectural element of the square is the Danubius fountain - a symbolic representation of the largest Hungarian rivers.
