Old Venetian Harbor

Port built by the Venetians in the first half of the fourteenth century. It was an important commercial and military base. It could hold over 20 ships at once. To this day, part of the port buildings and fortifications, which surrounded the Turks in the seventeenth century, have survived. Currently, there are numerous restaurants, bars and taverns around the port. It is one of the busiest parts of Chania, where life goes on until late at night.
