The square in front of the headquarters of the National Theater in Weimar. It was marked out at the end of the nineteenth century, in a place where earlier there were meadows adjacent to the city walls. A palace was built in the place of the demolished walls. The square is currently one of the main meeting places for the inhabitants of Weimar. A monument depicting Goethe and Schiller stands here.
