Royal Palace

Residence of the rulers of Saxony. It was built in stages from the 12th century. Currently, its largest fragments represent the Renaissance and Baroque styles. Inside are museums, including the famous Green Vault. The castle was destroyed during the Allied air raids from 1945. The reconstruction lasted until 2005.
