Abbey of Saint Hildegard
Local name: Abtei St. Hildegard
The medieval Benedictine abbey, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, was founded in 1165 by Hildegard of Bingen. After secularization in 1804, religious life was restored exactly 100 years later. The monastery church is famous for its excellent acoustics - it is the place of numerous concerts and recording performances.
