The Protestant church was designed in the arcade style in the mid XIX century, based on the instructions of King Frederick William IV. After the Berlin Wall was built, it was devastated by the East German border service. The monument was renovated in 1984–1985, while it was fully restored in the 1990s. It belongs to the palaces and park complexes in Potsdam and Berlin inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990.
