Sendlinger Straße is a famous shopping street in the center of Munich. Currently, the city's most modern pedestrian zone. In 2009, the Munich City Council recognized that the 120-meter stretch between Hackenstraße and Färbergraben is becoming a pedestrian zone. Construction works began in 2012, and from July 1, 2016, Sendlinger Straße was officially recognized as a pedestrian zone.
