The Lutheran church was built at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries in the Gothic style. It stands on the site of an earlier Romanesque church. Its 114.50 m tower is the tallest church tower in all of Lower Saxony. Inside are the remains of a Romanesque westwork from 1140. The church tower was made available in 1995. There is a viewing platform on it.
