The Ethnology Museum, founded in 1879, is one of the largest ethnology museums in Europe. His collection includes approximately 350,000 exhibits from Africa, America, Australia, Europe, Indonesia and Oceania. The exhibition also contains over 400,000 historical and ethnographic photographs depicting the history of art and culture of different nations.
The museum's collections are divided into many exhibitions on various topics. These include exhibitions on landscapes and life in Polynesia, mythology as well as geography and Indian architecture. Visitors can also see archaeological finds of the Andes provencal culture, ritual objects and everyday life of the African savanna, and learn about the culture of ancient Egypt.
Visitors will also find a large collection of masks mainly from New Guinea and a sculpture of the great Maori house.
